We are aware of the importance of candidates and training organisations understanding the rationale for the correct options in the SQE1 sample materials. Therefore, and in light of further feedback from stakeholders, we will be publishing the rationale alongside the existing SQE1 sample questions towards the end of this year.
This will help candidates and other stakeholders with their understanding of the sample questions and provide more support to candidates with their assessment preparation.
We have published new SQE1 sample questions towards the end of each calendar year for the last three years. This year we will publish the additional guidance at a similar time, but not further SQE1 sample questions.
We have to date published 220 SQE1 sample questions and supporting data and guidance, along with information on why single best answer multiple choice questions (SBAs) are used for SQE1. You can also watch guidance videos on the anatomy of SQE1 questions and writing effective SBAs. These will help anyone involved in the preparation of SQE1 study materials, and also candidates who want to learn more about SBAs.
