The Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) is made up of two parts: SQE1 and SQE2. Together, they test the knowledge and skills required to qualify as a solicitor in England and Wales.

SQE1 assesses functioning legal knowledge (FLK) through single best answer multiple-choice questions.
SQE2 tests practical legal skills and the application of legal knowledge, including skills such as client interviewing and legal writing.
