Overview of the SQE assessments

The Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) is made up of two parts: SQE1 and SQE2. Together, they test the knowledge and skills required to qualify as a solicitor in England and Wales.

You can find out what to expect in each assessment by reviewing the relevant assessment specification.

To help you prepare, sample questions are available for both SQE1 and SQE2. You can also access guidance and resources, including the functionality of the Pearson VUE assessment platform.

When it comes to assessment day, it’s important to know what to expect, including the format and timings of your exams.
