Booking the SQE

Kaplan manages the SQE booking process on behalf of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

This section outlines how and when to book your SQE assessments — including where to sit them, how to pay, and how to tell us if you need any adjustments. You'll also find links to pages with step-by-step guidance on making a booking and more.

Booking windows and availability

SQE assessments take place at set times during the year. Each assessment has a booking timeline - you'll find upcoming dates and deadlines on our Booking windows and key dates page.

Places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, using a reservation form. If you book online later you may find it difficult to find a seat, as availability at this stage is subject to demand.

Reasonable adjustments

Reasonable adjustments are changes to the way assessments are delivered or accessed, helping to remove barriers without altering the competence standards being assessed.

If you have a disability or condition that affects your ability to take the assessments, you may be eligible for reasonable adjustments.
