The monitoring and maximising diversity survey has been updated. Please return to the survey to reconfirm your answers and complete the new section at the end.
You must do this to remain eligible for the SQE. You will not be able to book your next assessment until you have updated your answers.
We have updated the approach to the surveys that candidates complete as part of the SQE process.
Candidates will continue to complete the Monitoring and Maximising Diversity survey before they can book their SQE assessment. This survey is designed to help us monitor diversity across all SQE candidates. It collects information about the candidate’s background such as age, caring responsibilities, disability, education, ethnicity and socio-economic background.
Candidates will now be asked to complete questions relating to any training provider they may have used and how they prepared for the assessment in a separate survey. They will complete this survey after they have completed their SQE assessment, and before they receive their results.
We have made this change to improve the accuracy of the data collected. The SRA is considering whether and how best the data could be contextualised and published to provide useful information for candidates on the choices available to them when preparing for the SQE.
Candidates will need to complete the training provider survey before they can access their results for any sitting.
This new approach will first apply for the January 2026 SQE1. We have emailed all candidates that took the SQE1 in January and have asked them to complete the survey.
In due course we will email all candidates that took the SQE2 in January to complete the survey in advance of their results being released.
In future, the training provider survey will be available shortly after candidates have sat each part of the SQE.
