We have released 50 new SQE1 sample questions.
The 50 questions are split evenly between FLK1 and FLK2 creating a total of 220 sample questions. The SQE1 sample questions illustrate the type of questions that appear on the FLK1 and FLK2 assessments.
130 of the sample questions have been released following the first sitting of SQE1 and are all questions that have been used in SQE1 assessments. To allow candidates to distinguish between these pre-tested questions (which are now presented with their performance data) and the original set of 90, the sample questions are now presented in two sets.
The newly released 50 questions are the last 25 questions in each pre-tested set, on the published PDFs. The online versions will be updated shortly.
The sample questions have been selected to be representative of the SQE1 assessments, both in terms of their difficulty and length.
The below tables show the average score (i.e the percentage of candidates that answered the question correctly) and word count of the 130 pre-tested sample questions compared with data from the actual SQE1 assessments (to and including SQE1 July 2025).
Length of the questions
The Welsh translated versions of the newly released 50 sample questions will be available in the new year. There are no candidates taking the SQE1 assessment in Welsh in January 2026.
