Content improvements for the SQE website

Jul 14, 2025

We're making improvements to the SQE website based on extensive feedback and testing with website users. This work focuses on how candidates search for, access, and understand information about the SQE. As a result, we will be updating the website’s structure, navigation, and content. These changes are designed to make it easier to find what you need, with clearer signposting to key topics and more accessible, easy-to-read content.

What’s driving these changes?

We're making improvements based on a combination of insights, including:

  • In-depth user research and testing with candidates
  • Detailed analysis of how people use the website
  • Feedback gathered through candidate satisfaction surveys
  • A growing demand for SQE-related information from users

What’s changing?

The updated structure will better reflect the SQE journey — from registering and booking to taking the assessments. These changes are designed to help candidates better understand what they need to do and when. It will also make it easier for candidates to find the information they need and manage more of their SQE journey independently.

Included improvements:

We're making several updates to improve the website user experience, including:

  • Easier and faster access to information through improved navigation, page layout, and search
  • Streamlined website journeys, templates, and content formats based on user feedback
  • Clearer signposting and better links between related sections
  • More readable content by breaking up long pages into shorter, focused sections.

Assessment Specifications and Policies

The content of the assessment specifications and policies will stay the same. However, we’re improving how this information is presented, including clearer signposting, updated formatting, and dedicated pages where needed.

When will the changes go live?

The updates will be rolled out later this year and we’ll share a news update once they are live. After that, we’ll continue to gather feedback from candidates and other website users to keep improving the website content and functionality.
