Booking for the April 2024 SQE2 assessment will open at 10am (UK time) on 10 January. On Wednesday morning, candidates will not be able to gain access to their candidate account from approximately 9am (UK time) until the booking window opens.
If you have already passed SQE1 (or have an exemption) and you want to book the April SQE2 then you can do so from that time in the usual way via your candidate account.
Should a large number of candidates want to book at this time, a queuing system will be in place to allow for fair access to the booking process. If this facility is used, the waiting page will indicate your approximate waiting time and as soon as you reach the front of the queue, you will be redirected to log in and book.
In order to book for SQE2, you MUST have completed the pre-booking steps, as usual for any assessment. If you do not complete these steps, you risk delaying being able to book. The Candidate Services Team will only be able to help you with queries relating to booking if you are logged in to your candidate account.
You will see the test centres available for the oral assessment sittings in the booking page.
We aim to provide consistent locations for the assessments, but the exact locations are confirmed when a booking window opens. The Dates and Locations page has a list of cities where we aim to hold the SQE1 and SQE2 written assessments. However, this is illustrative only, may change, and should not be taken as confirmation that these locations will be available for every assessment window. Test centre locations are subject to availability, capacity planning, and sourcing from Pearson VUE. You will see the test centres available for the SQE2 written assessment sittings in the booking page when the booking window opens.
Further SQE2 sittings will take place in April, July and October. More details are available on the Timings page.
Bookings are subject to availability.
The booking process for the April SQE2 will operate in a different way for candidates that sit and pass the January SQE1. Following feedback from candidates and training providers, we are making changes to support candidates who wish to progress from the January SQE1 to sitting the April SQE2 assessment. We are aiming to provide a quicker and simpler way for candidates to book a seat for what we anticipate to be a popular assessment when January SQE1 results will be released in March.
More information will be available on this website at the end of January. We will also email all candidates that sit the January SQE1 with further information at that time.
