On 25 September we communicated that we had identified an isolated error in the marking of one of the 16 assessment stations in the April 2023 SQE2, Business Case and Matter Analysis (BCMA), and that we would conduct a review.
The error was found in a few of the scripts in a set of 346. In order to reassure candidates we have checked that no other errors occurred within this set.
The review was concluded and the results of the review were presented to the Assessment Board on 10 October 2023. The Assessment Board has approved the results of the review.
The result for candidates is as follows:
Because of the very limited impact of the isolated error that was found, there will be no change to the post-assessment statistical report.
Although there are rigorous assurance processes in place for the SQE, we have reviewed our processes further in light of this error. We have communicated the outcomes to all affected candidates and apologised for the uncertainty this has caused.
