The SQE2 sample recording for the Criminal Litigation Advocacy question has been updated. The new recording reflects the changes to the magistrates' sentencing powers which were increased to 12 months imprisonment for a single either-way offence on 18 November 2024.
The revised sample candidate performance aims to provide a realistic representation of an SQE2 advocacy assessment. The sample answer includes a written discussion of the answer, guidance on key legal points, and a short analysis of the sample candidate's performance based on the assessment criteria.
There are no other material changes to the Criminal Litigation Advocacy sample question.
